Cleaning Window Shades
Dust shades regularly with a soft cloth or the
dusting brush of the vacuum. Dust side next to window as
well as side facing room.
Special Cleaning
Plastic Coated Fabric Shades
Soil collected on the exposed parts of the shade is
likely to be of a greasy nature. Wash before it gets too
dirty.
1. Remove the shade from the window.
2. Spread shade on long table covered with an old
plastic tablecloth or shower curtain.
3. Use a liquid detergent dissolved in water. Wash
surface with sponge. If textured, scrub with soft brush.
4. Wipe with clean cloth wrung in clear clean water.
5. Dry surface with a dry clean cloth.
6. Allow surface to air-dry before turning to clean
reversible side.
Pull cord if of fabric, may need replacement, or may
be washable.
Cleaning Laminated or Dull Rough Finish Fabric Shades
1. Remove shade from window.
2. Lay shade on a long table.
3. Use a wall paper cleaner to clean the surface.(Such
cleaner is available in sealed tin cans in paint/wall
paper stores or hardware.)
4. Small areas of soil may be cleaned with the use of a
gum eraser.
